Pirates beat Drillers

The Southlake Pirates set sail for the I.I.F.A Independence Bowl. Saturday, after defeating the East Texas Drilles 40-22 at Stampede Arena in Southlake, TX the Pirates will compete in their first Independence Bowl

Southlake relied on a stingy defense that held East Texas to 158 total offensive yards, forced two turnovers and two sacks.

The offense was led by a WR Paul Wilson as he had to jump into the driver seat and fill in as QB. Wilson managed the offence as if he was the starting QB, and he finished the game throwing three touchdown passes to three different receivers.
