The Pirates dropped in on Southlake’s Youth Flag Football scene at Stampede Arena. As the youth league of Southlake played flag football at Stampede Sports Arena, the Southlake Pirates a professional indoor football franchise made a guest appearance while the youth league was playing. “We’re just excited to get active in the community and add another winning program to the great city of Southlake”, said Southlake Pirates GM and Head Coach to a number of parents at Stampede.

The Pirates will be a contributor in the community that we play and work within. We are here to provide the people in our community the highest quality of family-oriented entertainment possible at an affordable price. It is also our intention to operate as closely to the standards of major-league sports as possible while still maintaining the service levels of a hometown franchise. This specifically means treating each and every guest (ticket holder) and partner (corporate sponsor) with the very best in service at all times. We are here to promote promising athletes to play at the highest level of professional football possible.

Southlake Pirates VS North Tx Crunch

Scrimmage

3/6/10

The Southlake Pirates faced the North Texas Crunch this weekend in a controlled scrimmage on Saturday night at Stampede Arena. With their new look, the Southlake Pirates and 22 new players, the Pirates faced off with the I.I.F.A. defending Champions. Many would call this the biggest evaluation of players since the Pirates debuted in the I.I.F.A..

The Pirates scored on their first possession during the controlled portion of the scrimmage and on the opening drive of the game simulation. This gave the Pirates coaching staff a glimpse at how explosive the offense could be this season. The return of receiver Josh Booker to the team will fill the void left with the loss of WR Emmitt Welch. The Pirates also have 2nd year WR Paul Wilson, who is healthy this season, along with QB Jarrard Perryman along with the following newcomers: WR Charles Sparks, WR Sedric Johnson, RB Jonathan Baca, and RB Adrick Ramirez. Both Baca and Ramirez are two of the most versatile Running Backs in the league. We are looking forward to this season.

On the defensive side of the ball the only returning starter is Defensive Back Delrick Johnson (a.k.a The General). After missing all but two games last season, he has dedicated this season to teaching and mentoring. Johnson has single handedly place the defensive backs on his shoulder. With the addition of Isaac Jefferson, Jake Pickering, Derrek Wageneck, and David Johnson, the Pirates will be a contended in every game.

The Journal of a Head Coach

This week I would like to leave you with a Quote.

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
